Surfing Mamba – Point Monrovia 1980
I grew up in Liberia, West-Africa. Its splendid nature and surf gave me the inspiration to paint.
I had my formal training in the Christelijke Hogeschool voor Kunsten in Kampen, the Netherlands, my country of origin.
For twenty years I worked as an assistant conservator in various museums, including twelve years at the National History museum in Leiden.
Recently I decided to stop working and commit myself entirely to painting.
A decision I treasure as I enjoy every minute.
